1. Because of how simplistic and open-ended the game is. In order to play Minecraft you need collect certain resources. A bed, for example, requires you to combine wood and wool, while a longbol is made from a stick and some string. There's no story, no mission, just you and a world of possibilities. In a nutshell it teaches you basic skills and it's easy to understand.




2. Some features to the educational version of minecraft are the things you learn through playing it such as geography, architecture, agriculture and physics. I would say it is a good idea since it is an interactive way of teaching students.


3. Copy cat versions usually have ''better'' graphics and some other modifiactions, which usually would mean a good thing. However minecraft's charm is in its simplistic graphics that make the gameplay so much more interesting.

4. It is the community that creates all the different mods of the game, in other words the community that add even more diversity to the game itself. Basically you can create a themed world, for instance a Star Wars or Middle-Earth type of place. Other players can download them and essentially access them.

5. Bergensten nots that the sense of ownership is essential due to the fact that, players feel as if the game is theirs. They make up their own rules, their own structures  and how to interact with others.

6. They've expanded the minecraft theme into merchandise, such as helmets, toys, shirts etc.
