Concept Music Video Analysis

I will be analysing the music video for the song Somebody I Used To Know by the Australian songwriter and artist Gotye and the New Zealand singer Kimbra. The video was produced by the Australian artists and cinematographers Natasha Pincus and Warwick Field. Concept music videos are characterised by them being based on an idea or a concept. They combine all the characteristic of the song. They can sometimes be very confusing, rand and usually don't have a story. They are quite unpredictable and could fall under the large umbrella of the movement post-modernism. This specific video could also be labelled as a performance one as well, because of the amount of singing there is. Task 1- Historical and comparative study of advertising

"All's well that ends well" Persil TV advert 1962   uses Pathos or emotional appeal.In the middle of the 20th century,the majority of mothers were maids and housekeeper.This ad targets especially mothers who clean and tend to the house, but they try to make mums relate to their everyday duties as shown in the advert,comforting and showing love to their children.Furthermore I feel as if the connotation is that a mother would do her duty better with Persil.The shots of the historical ad aren't as diverse as the shots of the contemporary one.The persil ad used MS,CU and ECU. An essay about my thoughts on Islamophobia ,Terrorism and Media        In this essay I will be discussing the terms islamophobia, terrorism and the association between them and the media. Islamophobia is defined as a dislike of, or prejudice against Islam or Muslims, especially as a political force. The usage of phobia to describe hatred in these kinds of words really irritates me ,due to the fact that phobia means an extreme or irrational fear of something. Fear of spiders for instance is described as Arachnophobia ,fear of close spaces- Claustrophobia etc. and putting phobia after a word to describe hatred towards a group is silly in my opinion.        First off I will start with a common thing I  see , which is biased media claiming that it is objective but on the other hand twists facts or even partially saves info it has, just to fit its (political) agenda.
