Task - Pros and cons

1.Hire more journalists to cover a bigger range of events. More people hired means more content created and more work done, however that also leads to more money spent on their payment due to their large number. 2.Put more ‘sponsored content’ online and in your paper. Putting a lot of sponsored content and ads on your paper leads to a lot of profit through advertising, but on the other hand too much ads could make the audience not want to read the source. 3.Sack journalists Although there surely are pros of sack journalists, for instance creating an interesting story for the audience, the cost outweighs the benefit in my opinion.Sending a team of journalists to a foreign country for example to do a story on something that is risky (a story on ISIS,or something of that sort) would be really expensive because of the fact that there would be also editting involved.Furthermore the transport, stay and food should also be payed which leads to more excess funding. 4.Make j...

Task 1- Historical and comparative study of advertising

"All's well that ends well" Persil TV advert 1962   uses Pathos or emotional appeal. In the middle of the 20th century, the majority of mothers were maids and housekeeper. This ad targets especially mothers who clean and tend to the house, but they try to make mums relate to their everyday duties as shown in the advert, comforting and showing love to their children.Furthermore I feel as if the connotation is that a mother would do her duty better with Persil. The shots of the historical ad aren't as diverse as the shots of the contemporary one.The persil ad used MS,CU and ECU. On the other hand the Persil - Dirt Is Good uses a mixture of camera angles such as LS,MS,CU,HA,ECU etc.It also uses emotional appeal and the meaning it's trying to convey is the idea of equality.A large diversity of people is involved coming from different ethnicities, gender, financial statuses, etc. And it's them playing a game of soccer whilst stepping over/getting rid of the names society h...

Task 4- Campaigning adverts and audience readings

“This is Abuse- would you stop yourself?” advert This advert targets the younger teenage audience. It's made by Home Office and its aim is to raise awareness for the abuse that occurs in a relationship. A thing used in this advert is empathy , they try to make us relate  to at least one of the people in the ad. the text in the end ''If you could see yourself would you see abuse?'' is explicit, they speak directly and gets us to think are we the abuser or the abused. There is a second version of this advert where the boy(the abuser) is knocking on a one way glass trying to put an end to the situation. Home Office is implying the idea that even the abuser could be doing damage to his couple unconsciously. "Be Food Smart"- Change4Life Most children today eat cereal in the mourning and the ad depicts the truth that they consume twice as much as they need per day, which is only for breakfast. And a lot of people are unaware of that, even some adults. ...

Task 2- Distribution and cross media platforms

Evaluation of cross platform advertising Strengths Potential problems Examples Viral advertising One of the biggest advantages is that it's self-replicating,meaning it gets spread like a virus from person to person very quickly. Also the fast spread of the ad doesn't need much resources.  Because of the rapid spread of the ad you may reach a person you wouldn't like to be associated with. The "Re:Everyone Old Spice" Ad Native advertising I'd say there're a number of pros, such as the efficent customer targeting,it isn's that expensive but most importantly Native Advertising cannot be blocked with Adblocker(since most pc users have one today). This gives native advertising a bigger reach to people. A problem that might occur is the negativity spread by people towards the ad,because they could find it dishonest or misleading. The sponsored instagram/facebok posts that constantly pop up in pe...
